When I started this "doodle-a-day" thing, I wasn't sure that I'd even be able to keep it going for a month. Well, here we are, 60 days in, and it's time to do a little assessment.
For the first few weeks, I was limited to what I could do because I was stuck using a mouse and keyboard. I thought that once I got home to my nice fancy graphics tablet, I'd be able to up the quality significantly. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to have been the case.
I think part of the problem is the lack of time I've put into drawing over the last few years. What's that old saying about using it or losing it? The other part of the problem is that I'm still not putting enough time into it. At present, all I'm doing is sitting down right before bed and banging out a quick doodle, usually in under 3 minutes. Some of these have literally been done in under 30 seconds, … and I think it shows.
I dunno how successful this is going to be, but over the next few weeks I plan on making a concerted effort to put a little bit more time and effort into these things. Hopefully I can also get it to show in the results.
