Lost a lot of sleep last night because something I ate at dinner (we went out) disagreed with me badly and it wasn't until I finally bit the bullet and went and threw up that I was able to sleep. Which was about 0330. So I'm pretty wrecked today and all the plans I had are gone out the window.
But I did clean the bathroom, so that's something, I guess.
Well, a lot of different things (we shared a meat platter, then a rabbit in red wine thing, then a shared pudding dessert). But I'm not sure if it was the food itself or the sheer richness and variety of it that I consumed. Because hubby ate exactly the same meal. Though let me just say that salami is disgusting coming back up and I doubt I'll be eating that again any time soon. :P
It could also have been a reaction to the small amount of gluten I consumed by way of having dessert, but I'm not sure it made it far enough to have caused me a problem. Not to mention gluten causes problems in the small intestine, not the stomach.
Meh, I felt so much better straight away it was clearly the right thing to do, and the upside is that I didn't get as many calories for the meal (this in no way justifies bulimia, but I'm just looking on the bright side).
Rabbit eh? Been a long time since I've had some free-range mutton (and never had a bought one); I don't even reckon I can recall the taste. Makes me feel nostalgic though. What was yours like?
The rabbit was delicious, but a little salty. And since I'm big on salt, some would have called it over-salted. They had braised it with onions, garlic, red wine, tarragon (I think) and mushrooms. And served it with polenta flavoured with parmesan. Okay I'm drooling at the memory. The meat FELL off the bone.
Just had a disagreement with hubby as I suggested going out again tomorrow night but he's worried I'll be sick. I can't eat my own cooking for the rest of my life - I will die! :)
Yes I agree. And I was fine on Sunday night. We had Ethiopian, which I have never eaten before... I was a little unwell, but only because of the godforsaken lentils. We ordered a chef's choice mixed platter which was 3 meat dishes and 3 bloody lentil dishes. I'm not supposed to have lentils with the FODMAP. Though I could have been sicker, and it could just have been the unfamiliar grains.
At some point, I really must start really reintroducing foods and testing them.

Nothing wrong with that Suze.

Also, the being sick, once it happened, was over pretty quick and I felt better immediately. So I'm not upset by it. One vom, done.
Suze, I'll take a quick chuck over laying around with an upset tummy any day of the week. Better out than in, as they say.
