All Quiet On The Septic Front?
Got locked out of this account again. Double checked that Google doesn't have a phone number on record for me. It doesn't. So, when they say, "please enter your phone number, so that we can verify it's you", what they're actually doing is fishing for data they don't have. Scumbags.
Anyway, inauguration is taking place in a few hours. I haven't heard any reports of violent mobs gathering. So far, not even any lone-idiot attacks. Post below if you hear otherwise.
Also, no pardon for Assange. Cunts.
miscellany
Here's a thought: When was the last time you saw a really good romantic sub-plot in a television show? And I don't just mean, "when was the last time you saw a show with a romantic sub-plot?", I mean a seriously GOOD one. One that left a lasting impression. I feel like I just about have to go back to Buffy The Vampire Slayer to find something that made a mark. Is there actually tons of good stuff out there that I haven't seen, or am I on to something here?
Listened to a podcast this week which investigated a group known as "AtomWaffen". They're basically an American-based cult, which mixes white-nationalism with Satanism, paedophilia, and shit about human-sacrifice. Apparently, their membership is almost entirely composed of young men, and their leader is a woman named Jillian Hoy, who—judging by the evidence laid out in the podcast—seems very likely to be an FBI asset. Anyway, like any good cult leader, Jillian sleeps with all of her followers. In fact, this is supposedly a right of passage for gaining entry into the group, and Jillian's feminine charms are integral to keeping the membership enthralled and obedient.
Here's what Jillian looks like:
Now, I wouldn't say she's not attractive, but I kinda expected more from a master seductress, y'know? Like, is that the barrier to entry for anyone who wants to have a cult of horny male disciples who will literally do anything you tell them? Jesus, I really did squander my youth, didn't I?

Fuck Trump
When you don't get a hell of a lot of things right, you've really got to milk the things you do, eh? Didn't I say that America is effectively a third world country, and we're likely to see violence flare up whenever there's a major election from now on?
The surreal thing about what happened the other day is—because I've been following fringe politics for the last four years—I actually recognised some of those idiots who stormed the capitol building. In case you're wondering who they were, allow me to elaborate.
Firstly, I can confidently say that few if any of them were neo-Nazi white supremacists. … Well … I guess by the standards of woke leftism they were, but by those standards, using clocks and calendars to establish a concept of time and date is white supremecist (I'm not joking). No, the real Nazi's started abandonning Trump en-masse the first time he bombed Syria; and when he assassinated that Iranian general a year ago—that was the last straw for most of the the ones who were left. In fact, almost all of the big-wig white-nationalist-types actively campaigned against Trump during the November election, and some of them even went so far as to endorse Biden. It's funny to think that the racist right now represent the only large and coherent anti-war movement left in America. Of course, there are still prominent anti-war voices on the left, but all solidarity has been destroyed by the pro-Israel lobby, who have fomented infighting, by cynically accusing prominent figures of being fascist anti-Semites. As you may have guessed, the reason this hasn't worked on the far-right is because most of those fellas happily describe themselves as fascist anti-Semites anyway. Interestingly, there's a core group of these neo-Nazi-types who are currently trying to reach out to the remnants of the anti-war left, in an attempt to build a bi-partisan anti-war coalition against the neo-liberal centre. Will be keen to see if it goes anywhere … Maybe a post for another day.
Secondly, I'd be surprised to find out that there was organised, organic terrorist activity going on. After 9/11, the FBI spent a lot of time and effort framing young Muslims as terrorists. Their standard operating procedure was to befriend some loser online, radicalise him, buy him a gun, build him a fake bomb, write him a script and help him film a video proclaiming violent jihad, drive him to a target, and then nab him as a terrorist. If you want to know more, you should have a look at the archives of The Intercept, provided they're still online. They did a lot of great reporting on this phenomenon, back in the day. They even published internal FBI memos where agents discussed the fact that some of their patsies were so literally mentally handicapped, that their handlers had to do absolutely everything for them.
Anyway, after Trump got elected, the FBI shifted their focus to "white supremacists". The most egregious case I've heard of is one in which a young bloke with paranoid schizophrenia was basically being kept locked up by his parents so he couldn't hurt anybody, and an FBI agent broke into their house and freed him so that they could take him on some bullshit terrorist adventure. Unfortunately, you won't read about any of that on The Intercept, as the publication completely lost its editorial objectivity after 2016—which is why founding members like Glen Greenwald left, and have been critical of the rag ever since.
I should point out that this doesn't mean that every single terrorist attack is FBI theatre. As far as I know, Christchurch was the real deal.
Might all this have something to do with the way security services seemed to stand back and allow the rioters to get into the building? I dunno. But I wouldn't mind betting it had something to do with the two pipe-bombs that were reportedly found (note, neither of them actually exploded).
So, at this point, you might have noticed I've spent a lot of time talking about who I thought these clowns WEREN'T; which still leaves the question, who do I think they actually were? I said in 2016, that I could totally understand why people supported Trump. The real question is—by 2021—after four years of his presidency, and everything he'd done—and more importantly, NOT done—who the fuck was STILL supporting him? Well, who do you think? The true believers, of course. The most gullible of the gullible. The rubes. The marks. The people who had completely bought into the idea of Trump as some sort of heroic saviour figure who was going to fix the country and put an end to Washington corruption.
I'd like to point out how little violence there was compared to what one might have expected. Yes, they smashed their way in, but they didn't tear the place apart. The building was not looted, or destroyed, or torched. They didn't storm their way in with guns blazing. I didn't see any guards or staff being savagely beaten. As far as I'm aware, the only fatalities were on the side of the rioters. I'm willing to bet that a large number of these retards thought that once they'd seized control, their glorious leader would march in and take command of the situation—the illegitimate impostor govenment would be swept aside—and America would be restored to her former glory. Maybe a bald eagle would land and strike a majestic pose.
… but what did Trump actually do? He riled up a bunch of fools, pointed them at a target, and when the inevitable happened, he publicly denounced them and pretended he had nothing to do with it. Four people are dead. Hundreds will probably go to gaol.
Amongst ex-Trump-followers, there's a popular joke—that Trump is the kind of bloke who starts a fight at the pub, and then runs out the back door while his mates are getting their heads kicked in.
Of all the scummy things he's done, this just might be the scummiest.

Washington Riot Thread
Arrived back home last night. Slept for about twelve hours. Got up this morning to find that Trump supporters had stormed the capitol building in Washington. Will have a properly articulated take later in the day. In the meantime, I thought I'd put this thread up for anyone who wanted to express their own thoughts.
