Wouldn't Be A Yank For Quids

In 2016, I heard a number of Yanks complaining that they were facing the most dismal election choice they'd ever seen; that choosing between Trump and Clinton was like choosing between a kick in the guts or a punch in the face. At the time, I said I probably would have voted for Trump, based on the fact that he was at least willing to SAY he wanted to wind down the wars and bring back economic protectionism. Clinton wasn't even willing to give people decent fake promises.

Somehow, in the space of just four years, the Yanks have managed to top themselves when it comes to shitty choices. Now they get to pick between what is effectively "Clinton with dementia" and a bloviating bag of bluster and bullshit, who everybody knows isn't going to fight for the things he promises. The only thing Trump managed to do successfully during his four years in office, was crawl even further up the arse of the Israelis.

Anyway, here's a video I was listening to this evening, which caught my attention. The point of it is, a lot of people like to play this game, where they make out that Trump is like this fuckin' radical right-wing Hitler-type figure; but the truth is, the real evil of Trump is the same as the real evil of Obama … it's that he DIDN'T live up to his radical rhetoric. Instead, he turned out to be just another neo-liberal, corporatist, war-monger. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Nope NOpe NOPE. Trump is so extremely narcissitic I can't even spell it.

He's allowed hundreds of thousands of people to die unnecessarily of COVID because it's not in his agenda of me me me. That doesn't even come close to the failures of the Obama presidency.

The irony is that I was listening to a pod the other day that made a convincing case for Trump being the inevitable result of the Clinton Presidency + The West Wing fantasy of what the President should be. It was fascinating, but the upshot was that there are thousands of idealistic Democrats who wanted to work in the White House because of The West Wing and add that to the Clinton Impeachment where the Dems refused to look at his misbehaviour because AT LEAST he wasn't Bush, that they refused to recognise that MAYBE there was something wrong with this picture, and then hello... twenty years later we've let successive presidents get away with anything because we just wanted to retain power and now look we have TRUMP.

Well, it made a lot more sense than that, but I've drunk almost a whole bottle of Prosecco so I can't be any more coherent than that right now.

Biden is a creep, look at the compilation of him in action. Once you see it it's clear.

Trump is bad
Kanye is mad (and anti-abortion, anti-vaccine)

I'm glad I don't have to vote and TBH I think I wouldn't vote for any of them, it's just such a mess!

Suze:

Clinton governed as a neoliberal. Bush governed as a neoliberal. Obama campaigned as a lefty ... and then governed as a neoliberal. He bent over backwards to facilitate the govt and reserve bank pouring trillions of dollars into the institutions that caused the GFC, and then stood by with his thumb in his arse, while said institutions used that money to pay their executives massive bonuses, and then proceeded to kick tens of thousands of bankrupt Americans out of their homes. No wonder really, since he also let the wall street banks that funded his campaign pick his cabinet for him (see the infamous Citigroup memo). He offered to gut social security as part of his "grand bargain" with the GOP, and got lucky that said bargain fell apart due to GOP infighting. His signature policy, "Obama Care", was drempt up by a Republican think-tank, and was little more than a thinly veiled give-away to private health insurance companies. His govt was the chief proponent of the TPP, which would have further wrecked America's economy (and Australia's too) if it had gone ahead. To this day, the one (and possibly only) thing I will give Trump thanks for, is ripping up that filthy, parasitical agreement. And if you want to talk about Obama having actual blood on his hands, let's talk about the drone program, the torture program, and the current state of Libya.

Trump won because Obama was terrible and Hillary was promising more of the same. Trump ran on a platform of left-wing economic populism, and the chance for people to say "fuck you" to the entire political establishment, Democrat and Republican alike. Bernie Sanders (2016 version) represented the same thing (and actually ran on a fairly similar platform). In the end though, it's the Trump voters who have been "fuck you'd"; just like the Obama voters before them.

As horrible as Trump has been during COVID, I'm not entirely confident that somebody else would have fared better. The Democrats in the House and Senate have effectively teamed up with the Republicans to fuck the general public. Just like in the GFC, the focus has been on keeping stock prices high and the financial institutions afloat. On top of that, the chief medico has admitted that they intentionally lied to the public about the effectiveness of masks, because they were afraid of shortages. Combine that knowledge with a population that's got an anti-authoritarian streak a mile wide, and a predilection towards conspiracy theories, and you've got the recipe for a disaster, regardless of who's running the show.

One thing I will agree with you on, is that Trump is a petty, venal, thin-skinned, narcissistic, pathetic little man. I just don't think that that makes him leagues worse than what came before him.

By the way, I also listened to an interesting podcast recently. It was about Roy Cohn and Arthur Finkelstein. I've felt for a while, and this has only firmed my belief, that trying to understand politics by scrutinising politicians is like trying to understand the world by only looking at shadows. If you really want to know what's what, you've got to look at the party executives, the campaign managers, the chiefs of staff, the strategists, the policy directors, the think-tank employees, the lobbyists and the donors. Basically, everyone involved in politics who isn't actually elected. Be prepared to be horrified.

Melbs:

Clinton was a creep, Trump was a creep, Epstein was running an underage sex-ring with the blessing of both the Dems and the GOP. At this point, it's so ingrained that, if I was a Yank, I might be willing to put up with a president who had creepy sexual predilections, if they actually governed in my interests. Biden is not that president.

By the way, have you seen the Corn Pop video? It's pretty famous now. It's the one where he tries to tell the story about his time as a lifeguard, and it ends up sounding like a comedian doing an impersonation of a senile old man ranting.

Also, I've never liked rap music. So I never found Kanye West impressive. So there was no disappointment for me when he started getting into politics and revealed himself to be an utter fuckwit.

Hey, yes all creeps all fucking into fucking underage people, and rape and some of them kids it seems? By saying Biden is creepy doesn't mean I don't know about all the others. It is so ingrained; it's almost like the super wealthy and powerful can do anything they like, and eventually the helipads and caviar and classy hookers loses the impact and thrill so they become more and more depraved, some people are into rape as a sexual preference I reckon, so the untouchables can just do their thing, and find children if they want, so many children vulnerable to abuse. And it's like porn now, people are getting into child exploitation material because the other stuff is 'boring' and they get led down a pathway towards that, and kids being groomed all over the place and hentai stuff with favourite cartoon characters with genitals and fucking, it's all so dismal it makes me think what are humans?

End rant

Yep, it's getting to the point where I'm starting to sympathise with people who want to ban porn.

I listened to a podcast a while back, which was about a political "fixer" named Roy Cohn, who was active from 1950s-80s. Apparently, he was the lover of J. Edgar Hoover, who basically ran the FBI like a giant blackmail operation. It was asserted that Cohn pioneered a system of controlling politicians by setting up, and then recording, sexual encounters with underage girls (or boys). It was also asserted that Jeffrey Epstein inherited this operation from Cohn, and that both of them probably had ties to the Israeli secret service.

Dunno how much truth there is to it, but worth looking into if you fancy going down that rabbit hole.

Don't get me started on Israel.

I've been trying to write a post on far-right antisemitism for about a year now. The problem is, the more time I spend looking into the issue, the harder it is for me to write them off as mindless bigots reacting to an imaginary boogeyman.

I'm no anti-Semite. But I am anti-Israel. There's quite a difference.

Then again, I'm anti fundamentalist anything, so don't get me started on orthodox Jews and fucking Hillsong and the like.

From what I've seen, there's more to it than just questionable policies coming out of Tel Aviv. In short, the Jews that operate at the highest levels of global power have a sense of ethnic-cohesion/in-group-preference that has allowed them to run rings around the ethnic Europeans who operate at that same level. They are however not having such an easy time dealing with the Chinese, who have a similar sense of ethnic cohesion.

Fun fact: Apparently, there are popular books sold in China that have titles along the lines of "How the Jews run the world"; but rather than loopy conspiracy theories about child sacrifice, they're filled with business strategies for Chinese entrepreneurs to emulate.

How's this for weird. I access this blog from a dedicated virtual machine with its own VPN connection. There's zero chance of contamination between my regular online life and what I post here.

This evening, I queue up some political YouTube videos to listen to while I'm getting ready for bed, and what do I get? Ad after ad from some ex-Rabbi in Israel who's trying to convince Jews that their salvation lies in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I'm actually kind of freaked. Surely it can't be a coincidence?

Does your phone listen to you?

That ethnic/in-group preference is apparent amongst all migrant communities. Jews just have a massive diaspora due to WW2 which then forms a network, so there's probably something to it.

I'm quite paranoid about technological surveillance. I don't have cameras or microphones attached to any of my desktop computers. The inbuilt cameras on my phone/tablet/laptop all have tape over them. All of the voice-controlled smart assistant apps are manually disabled. And I absolutely refuse to have one of those standalone speaker gadgets.

But even if something was listening, how would it know what I was typing?
