A Question For The Dr Who Crowd

I don't follow the show religiously, so I'm not an expert on how it all works, but I do know that Squib at least should be able to answer this question:

Is there any reason why The Doc couldn't, wouldn't, or shouldn't regenerate as a sheila?

None at all. Except for hidebound ideas of white men.

Yep, no reason. The Master changed gender but maybe a female villain is FINE but not a female hero. I stopped watching it last season. I don't know if it just got too tedious or if I didn't like Peter Capaldi as the doctor. Even LS lost interest which is weird because she's always been a Dr Who fan

Thank you both, I will pass that information on to relevant parties who would like to see it happen, but were wondering if there was any canonical or logistical reason why it couldn't.

For some reason, it seems kind of sad to me that the show has lost you, Squib. You seemed so into it in the past. The reboot must be nearly as old as LS; did she start watching it when she was four?
