I'm in unusually high spirits at the moment

Haven't got a clue why that is—maybe it's because everything ran uncommonly smoothly today; maybe it's because I voted early, so I don't have that to worry about that any more—whatever the case, I don't plan on knocking a gift-horse in the mouth. Here's some videos to symbolise my current exuberance:

Have I mentioned before how much I love acrobatics, or how happy I am that there's now a number of musical sub-genres that take inspiration from '80s synth pop? What's that—I've only mentioned these things about a hundred times? Well then, allow me to begin making up for this gross negligence. I highly recommend listening to the first video while watching the other two.

You're right, song much better with other video. Might almost be a good song for running. Oh yeah, did I mention I have a fractured foot

Do you like this one, it's not 80s synth pop

I love watching gymnasts and ice skaters and high divers and the like. Other sports bore me to tears though I did watch the last half hour of Iceland V England in the Euro Cup because it was very dramatic and some of those guys might have come straight off the set of Vikings

Jeez Squib, what'd you do to yourself? It's not a bone-density problem is it? I've got enough people around me dealing with that issue at the moment.

My big weakness is for any sort of acrobatic activity that involves two or more people working together. My favourite sports are acrobatic gymnastics (not in the Olympics … yet), doubles ice-skating, and synchronised swimming. I'm also quite fond of free-running (which most people lump in with parkour, even though there's a slight difference), and even some styles of (non-American) professional wrestling.

Basically, I'm more interested in displays of skill and the beauty of movement than I am in the thrill of competition.

I didn't much care for that song to start with, but it won my over by the time it ended.

I think my bones are ok (I hope!). I've never fractured/broken anything before. Just slipped off my shoe and off the edge of some grass and my foot sort of twisted 180 degrees with all my weight on it. Such a dumb thing to do

It's the vitamin D
You still taking it?
I've cranked up to 6000 per night again, for winter, and because my shoulder had gone bad. And whaddya know? Shoulder feeling goooood after about two or three weeks in.

I'm so sorry I'm so behind your posts
Will catch up on questions you've asked me, and I really do want to put my Game of Thrones comments, also started OITNB S4 last night... Will watch a few more while daughter at work. Plus bikes have started so that is dominating.

But so glad you have 'elevated mood' it's such a good feeling.

sorry squib for your foot. So annoying for you. HUGS to you both

HUGS right back, Melbs.

I can't say I don't miss hearing from you Melbs, but don't worry too much if you can't keep up with stuff here—I know you're busy.

Still taking the VD. 2000IU every day. Haven't been sick in years.

I've put links to the TV discussion threads in the right-hand column. How are you finding OITNB so far? Is Princess not watching it with you?

That song. Hooked. And those people are half insane.

Have you seen this? Love it. https://youtu.be/9RBzsjga73s

What is the diff between free running and parkour? I have a friend who was into parkour, but had to give it up because of what it did to her body. :(

I found that music video kinda intriguing. The music felt like maybe it had a little too much hip-hop influence for my taste, but I'm going to listen to some more Christine before I making a conclusive judgment.

Parkour as a discipline is supposed to emphasise the EFFICIENCY of movement (ie: getting quickly from point A to point B without hurting yourself). Free-running emphasises the AESTHETICS of movement, and contains all kinds of flips and other tricky shit. I've toyed with the idea of getting into parkour and/or free-running, but at this point, I just feel like I'm too old. I have serious doubts about whether I could recover from even a mild injury.

Can I ask what happened to your friend? Was it her joints?

Yes her joints. Terrible trouble with her knees now.

I think if you go into something like that, you already need the muscle tone and strength of an athlete if you want to avoid injuring yourself.

Might definitely give it a miss.

Checked out some more Christine though. So far I like Saint Claude & Paradis Perdus.
