30 minutes. GIMP.
Something nice and simple to start with. I decided to work in GIMP for the first time in a while. It was okay. Kinda like hanging out in one of your old home towns. Everything seems just right to start with; and then you realise why it is you left. GIMP is not designed for freehand drawing and painting, and lacks a lot of the little freehand-centric luxuries that MyPaint and Krita have.
There's a lot about this effort I don't like. To start with, I probably went overboard experimenting with the different brushes. The tree branch started out as a little test area, but just sorta worked its way into the picture over time. The composition isn't great either. Reckon the bike turned out alright though.

Ha!
I saw two idiots on a peewee 50 cross a railway crossing around the gates. Half of me was hoping they'd get squished. What was even more irritating was they pulled into a street only 2km or so from my house. Little pricks live in my suburb!
I use GIMP but only because it's free. I still don't understand most of it and frankly for photo editing these days I find the algorithms in the Windows standard software to be more helpful.
At least they pulled into a street 2km away. I'm pretty sure this bloke lives on my block.
I still love GIMP, but the primary focus of the project is photo manipulation (it really wants to be the free alternative to Photoshop).
The equally free MyPaint and Krita are made from the ground up for people who want to paint & draw.
Your drawings are so fun. I like the one on the bike but also the one with the rellies. Your facial expression with your pot of tea. LOL
But what is GIMP, clearly some sort of software that i've never heard of and am too freaking lazy to google...
Like I said, GIMP is software that wants to be the free alternative to Photoshop. In reality, it competes with the cheap version of Photoshop that sells for a bout $100 and has half the features stripped out (I think it's called Photoshop Elements).
It's available for Windows as well as Linux, and it's pretty decent for retouching photos. Find it at gimp.org.
Should have another sketch up (along with post) sometime tomorrow.
