I forgot to watch the women's test between the Australian & Kiwi women. The nieces will not be impressed. Having women's sport on telly has been a big deal for them this year.
In any case, Eurovision is next week! … sans Sam and Julia though :-(
You will definitely have to report back on how the party goes, Suze. Are you doing any special preparations?
I am saddened by how many crap songs have gone through to the finals, and that the one song I was quite into did not. Isn't Australia's entry awful this year?
I can remember how gutted I was when Terry Wogan hung up his commentator's hat. I hated Sam & Julia for the first couple of years, but they steadily grew on me. Now I'm gutted to see them go. By the way, I know who Myf Warhurst is, but who's the bloke she's partnered up with? I can't even remember his name. I've just been calling him Not-Sam.
Well it's more like a small gathering. We'll be cooking and serving dinner and loads of alcohol and encouraging people to take Ubers home.
I am GUTTED about Montenegro. He was the only act who was fun last night. Though I have heard a couple of times that the 2nd semi is better. It was the same last year too. I do not know why Australia got through - that song, while sung well and I like the singer, is boring as batshit.
I missed Wogan for years, though Julia and Sam did grow on me after the first year. Julia being multi-lingual was a big advantage for us as well I think. I have no idea who Not-Sam is. Though he's clearly enjoying is time with all the dancers of Eurovision! :D
(actually the best act last night was the Ukranian screaming lady that won last year, who I hated. Tells you how bad the offerings were)
I was also disappointed that Montenegro didn't go through, but I was even MORE disappointed that Macedonia didn't go through either. Macedonia was the one song this year that will probably be going into regular rotation at my place.
The second semi was definitely the better of the two, which sucks, because it means ten comparatively rubbish songs got through while a bunch of better songs got knocked out.
I know you've said before that you weren't keen on Australia's entry last year, but I really liked it. This year though, blech.
I think I'd be doing the same thing if I was in Not-Sam's shoes, although, I get the feeling those dancers probably wouldn't have been interested :-(
