Fuck Hillary

I don't think I've done a shrill and poorly reasoned political screed in a while—so I guess it's about time to remedy that. Y'see, I think I'm getting sucked into the American presidential primaries. Sort of. Maybe. A little bit. …

Now I don't mind talking about the Republican race, if that's what people are interested in—but honestly—I think it's the least interesting of the clown shows. Y'see, so far as I can tell, anyone who even remotely stood for any kind of conservative ideals never really got a foot in the door; so now it's just a bunch of self-serving, egotistical, elitists, trying to impress party-loyalists by comparing penis size. Essentially, it's a competition to find the biggest prick.

No, what interests me is what's going on over on the Democratic side; where—for the first time in a long time—somebody who actually believes in a lefty agenda might actually have a shot at getting up. It's probably obvious from the title who I'm not talking about.

Now, I know people are gonna say, "Hang on, what about Obama? What about all that inspirational 'hope and change' crap?" Yeah, exactly, what about it? As it turns out, it was just that—crap. As it turns out, he was the same kind of bloodthirsty, elitist, corporate shill and all around loathsome cunt as Bush … and Clinton before him. In fact, Clinton may have been the US equivalent of Tony Blair; you know—the prick who championed the idea that the best way for "lefties" to get back into power was to abandon all their principles and just become "Torries Lite".

(I don't know who you can point to as Australia's Tony Blair—Paul Keating, perhaps?)

In case there's any lingering doubt, I'd like to make it absolutely clear that I think Hillary Clinton is a lying sack of shit. She stands for nothing other than her own gain and will say anything if she thinks it's politically expedient to do so. She will secretly work to draft and implement trade legislation that harms national sovereignty, and then publicly protest the adoption of that legislation. She will condemn Wall Street bankers in public speeches, and then—behind closed doors—lick the arses of those very same bankers—at a quarter mil per session. She will wail about the corrupting influence of legalised bribery, while at the same time accepting legalised bribes, and then argue that she is somehow immune from corruption. In short, she is a perfect representative for the modern Democratic party and its values.

I'd also like to point out that it takes a special kind of sociopath to tell a lie as grandiose as the one about the plane-landing in Serbia. You know, like that arsehole newsreader (Brian something) who made up that bullshit story about his helicopter being shot down in Iraq, or those cunts who pretend they're war veterans or first-responders.

As a final note, I'd just like to mention the real motivation behind this rant. It was when I heard this sound-bite from Madeleine Albright. I can't say exactly why, but somehow it got in under my skin and just wouldn't stop wriggling.

Fuck you Maddie. You're a bigger sack of shit than Hillary is.

BONUS: Here's an article about the Clintons' track record on African-American issues. It's probably best to read it on the site where it was originally published, but I've also included a full copy below, just in case the original ever goes offline for any reason.

EXTRA BONUS: I came across quite a few of these type of videos that feature distressed and disillusioned Democrats. I don't know if it's meant to be a joke that this woman calls herself "The Sane Progressive" while she looks like some strung-out wretch cowering in a bomb-shelter as her world explodes overhead.

How can you even say that about Keating?!

Squib, I often forget to put question marks on the end of questions. The fact that I put a question mark on the end of that one shows that I really seriously meant it as a question.

The first time I really noticed it locally was with Gillard, who—according to cabinet leaks—argued against raising pensions for seniors and the disabled, and took benefits away from single mothers, and defended government funding of private schools (and pushed for the system to become more Americanised), and reworked the super-profits tax so that mining giants never actually had to pay it, AND decided to get down in the mud with Abbott on refugees (and tried to roll back environmental policy—but got wedged by the greens).

However; it was Keating who started Labor down the path of "privatise and deregulate everything", wasn't it?

I don't know about that (sooner or later it all gets privatised, no matter who is at the helm?) but he was definitely not a Torrie, no way, José!

As for Gillard, I dropped her like a hot potato when she said she was against gay marriage. No backbone! Though she has my sympathy re: all the misogynistic bullshit she endured

when she said she was against gay marriage

… and there's another thing.

No backbone!

Well, either that or she was a pragmatic polly who thought playing to the right was a good way to win.

Though she has my sympathy re: all the misogynistic bullshit she endured

Agreed. Although, I did lose a tiny bit of that sympathy when—towards the end—there was a concerted effort to paint every criticism of her as being tinged with mysogyny.

Also, I'll take your word for it on Keating.

sooner or later it all gets privatised, no matter who is at the helm?

… and people say I'm a glass-half-empty girl. … It's probably true though.

Sorry I just can't do the politics right now but am interested in the idea of Hilary being a baddie. Is she? Really?

Also, we love Keating in our house. Not quite sure why, I think it's because my mother loves him.

Hillary's main motivation is getting more money, power, and prestige for Hillary. I don't know where that puts her on the goodie/baddie spectrum, but the only real difference between her and all of the Republican candidates is the audience she's playing to.

The fact that I haven't commented her yet doesn't mean I'm not interested. I just need time to read properly and look at the clips.

'I'll be back.'
