I spent today listening to the rain and it make me happy.

I was planning on writing a post about one of the towns I passed through the other day, but it was a bit downbeat and I don't feel like doing anything downbeat at the moment.

Actually, looking back at what I've posted here, I see this place has very quickly become an outlet for me to vomit up bile every time I see something that makes me a lit bittle bit cross.

So ... in order to offset this problem, while I try to come up with some happier topics to write about, I've decided to give the place a slightly softer, cheerier, girlier sort of feel.

Whaddya reckon?

It's hard to read that font in pink. It might be better in black or navy, I'm not sure. But hey, I like the sprucing and cheerfulness of it!

I know what you mean about blogs and how quickly they can become a depository of all things. For me, I use it to collect things I like, kind of like a scrapbook, in fact that's what my computer is, where I save photos and other pics, I copy and paste text from articles into word docs and file them in a folder called 'To Print'. I think it's good to have a space where it can be what you want it to be. And if you really want pink text, then so be it. But you did ask!

There really is something about rain on a tin roof, isn't there?

Anyway, about half an hour after I posted this, the power went out, and when I went outside with a torch to investigate, the road was running like a river. Thankfully it went down as quickly as it came up.

If you're saving things on your computer, please make sure you always have back-ups. All hard-drives die eventually, it's only a matter of when. Ideally, you should have no less than three copies (on three separate media) of any file you even remotely care about. And most ideally, one copy should be located somewhere else (with a relative, in DropBox, etc), in case of fire, flood, or other disaster.

I think I will change the font. Either the colour or the typeface, I haven't decided which yet. I like the different shades of pink, but I agree, it's harder to read than it should be.

Also, for some reason, my spelling and grammar is turning to shit.
