This post is mainly for Suze, and it's a continuation of our long-running discussion on gender division in sport. Once again, it's a Noel Plum video; this one covering the history of Caster Semenya's athletic career, and how it has been interwoven with changes in regulations from the relevant sporting bodies. I know you've said you no longer have the patience for long-form content; however, I thought this one was so fuckin' interesting that I implore you to at least attempt to listen to the entire 50mins of it. The audio is all that matters—there's absolutely no need to watch it, unless of course, you like looking at spunky British firies (enough said).
One of the most interesting bits—and something I had no idea about—was just how tricky the definition of cis-gendered can be when discussing these things, and also, how irrelevant it should be when deciding these things.
