It's still dead, but I see four people have left comments there in the last year. Squib, I know you've got other stuff to worry about right now, but how would you feel about trying to start something new and seeing if we get any bites?
I'm not actually asking you to commit to anything, I'm just trying to gauge interest.

I often miss that blog but I'm not posting anything because the last time I did, everyone ignored it and then Persey posted something and EVERYONE instantly commented because he's so cool and it made me feel crap so... I took down my post
TSFKA?
Clearly I have stumbled on your blog from a completely different angle to the others on here. :)
I always thought you were on TSFKA, Suze
What is TSFKA?
The Site Formally Know As. Was fun while it lasted but everyone suddenly found a life or something
*Known not Know
Actually, you were right the first time Squib. I dunno if it was an intentional misspelling or not, but it was indeed "The site formally know as".
Suze, TSFKA was how Squib, Melba, and I got to know each other. Originally, we were all readers of "The Spin Starts Here", a blog that was more-or-less dedicated to poking fun at politicians, journos, and other (mostly Australian) celebrities. For a while, it was known and respected enough to get accepted into the national archive. Eventually they got into critiquing other blogs, which led to a "blog war", which eventually led to what we would now call a doxing scandal (the term doxing wasn't in use then). TSSH shut down and the copy at the national archive was sealed for 99 years.
A series of reader/contributor backed blogs sprang up, offering safe harbour for TSSH refugees … but none of them lasted … until TSFKA came along. Not only was it the longest lived, it was also the first blog where I became a regular commenter.
And then, one day, it just sort of fell silent. Dunno what happened, but it was all very quick. One day people were chatting and joking and carrying one, and the next, the place was like a ghost-town.
I don't think about it often, but when I do, I really miss the place.
Interesting.
I've been online since 1996, and I've seen a number of sites die. Including the message board on which I met my husband. That one was really active for at least four years and then a couple of members turned into Mean Bitches and the rest of us just stopped going there over a couple of months because we didn't want to put up with their shit, and didn't want to fight about it either. Most of us moved to each other's LJs or Myspace and then to FB to keep in touch. This also meant we could leave/ignore the Mean Bitches without the mods having to actually ban them from the Board. However, the mods lack of action meant that the board died a death. It's archived somewhere, but I doubt anyone will ever read it again. I don't miss it per se, but I do love a good message board and there's one I still frequent which is very active.
I was also active on LJ for a really long time, but it's been ruined by being sold off to a Russian company and the pr0n laws that led to a lot of paranoia and a mass exodus to Dreamwidth, which I don't find anywhere near as good, even though the format is near-identical.
In 1996 I was still living in rural communities that had never heard of the internet.
I had forgotten about LiveJournal, but your comment reminds me of something I was talking to Squib about this while you were away—with Tumblr now deciding to ban porn, Blogger has become last free blogging service I know of which allows users to post a mixture of pornographic and non-pornographic material. Are you aware of any other alternatives, Suze?
I know about the whole The Spin Starts Here business but I don't think I ever visited that site (I don't remember it anyway). I came across TSFKA via a couple of posters who I originally bumped into on Marieke's blog Reasons You Will Hate Me, and who dropped by the blog I had at that time
Prior to the days of blogs, I was very busy on message boards (Irish and American ones for some reason) and I had an excellent time winding up Bush supporters and being a total drama queen. I really miss those times but I still have two posters from those days as my FB friends
