I suppose Spain has a bit of a history when it comes to separatists and violence, but it's also a reminder that this sort of thing can happen anywhere.
They probably thought they were going to nip this thing in the bud before it got that bad. They've probably caused the very thing they were trying to stop.

Yeah but a peaceful vote? It's not like the voters were Basque terrorists.
They probably thought they were going to nip this thing in the bud before it got that bad. They've probably caused the very thing they were trying to stop.
